Training Session Dates (Sept 2011 to August 2012)

Friday - JUNIOR CLASSES

The Junior Class is aimed at junior players from 6 years to 15 years and takes place in the school term time.

Session 1 (6pm-7pm) Boys and Girls aged 6 years to around 8 years

Session 2 (7pm-8pm) Boys and Girls aged around 7 years to 10 years

Session 3 (8pm-9pm) Boys and Girls aged around 9 years to 15 years

New members should contact the Junior Head Coach to discuss the best classes to attend. Please note that due to the popularity of the classes, there is sometimes a waiting list operating for the sessions.

We usually have large intakes at the start of each school term (September, January & Easter).

Please email the club (wgcjudo@gmail.com) or ring the Junior Head Coach if you would like your child to start judo and be placed on the club waiting list.

Note – for safety reasons we do not allow children under 6 years old.

Tuesday - JUNIOR ADVANCED CLASS

This class takes place in the school term times.

Session 4 (7:30pm-8:30pm) Boys and Girls aged around 8 years to 15 years

This session is suitable for more experienced juniors, teaching Competition judo and core judo skills, including throwing drills, combination throws, and seemless transition from standing to groundwork.

Note - Children must have good attention spans and be keen to improve their judo.

We welcome visitors - Please bring your current BJA/BJC judo licence.

Tuesday - SENIOR CLASS

The Senior class takes place EVERY Tuesday from 8:30pm to 10pm throughout the year (apart from Christmas week).

Session 5 - Tuesday (8.30pm-10.00pm) 18 years to around 50 years

Non-members are always welcome on a "turn up and join in" basis, please bring your current BJA/BJC licence.

We welcome visitors - Please bring your current BJA/BJC judo licence. Please note that if your licence expires you will not be permitted on the mat due to the club’s insurance policy.

Welwyn Garden City Judo Club

Based at Gosling Stadium, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
